National Eucharistic Pilgrimage

Have you been following the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage? In honor of America’s 250th year, the 2026 National Eucharistic Pilgrimage carries the theme One Nation Under God. This is an invitation to realign our lives, communities, and country under the sovereignty of Christ. It’s a call to build unity through prayer, and to let Jesus, present in the Eucharist, renew and heal the heart of our country, one soul at a time. You’re invited to offer prayers and sacrifices for the renewal of America. Learn more at the official pilgrimage website eucharisticpilgrimage.org.

Our Sunday Visitor is a proud media sponsor of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage. Visit osvnews.com/national-eucharistic-pilgrimage for updates and news as the pilgrims journey with the Eucharist from St. Augustine, Fla., to Philadelphia.

6/2/26 Update from Sharon Phillips!

Sharon Phillips, our HS Youth Minister, is one of the nine Perpetual Pilgrims traveling with the Blessed Sacrament full-time for the whole pilgrimage.

“Hello everyone from the east coast! I can’t believe it’s been over a week of pilgrimage already. Witnessing so many different Catholic communities coming together to adore and receive Jesus in the Eucharist has been so beautiful. This time of pilgrimage and ministry is showing me how much God loves His people, and how much it delights Him to see us all come together. Please know I have been praying for your intentions and I hope you’ll continue to share your intentions with me and keep me in your prayers as well.

One story I’d like to share is about a girl named Maria that I met on the opening weekend in St. Augustine, Florida. She is 13 years old and was only there to help her dad with his work as a local reporter and photographer. As they were around our team quite often for media interviews and content, I got to talk with her a good amount and she ended up joining many of our conversations and errands around the Our Lady of La Leche Shrine. As we talked I got to hear more of her story – she sees so much of the Church through different media experiences where her dad interviews many well-known figures, but it’s led her to see the “artificial” nature of a posed photograph, a scripted prayer, or how different someone is when they’re off camera. As we spoke about this, I wondered if she felt the same way about God. She felt like faith was a practice on the outside, not an encounter within. Through our conversations I encouraged her to join us at Mass, during the Eucharistic procession, and during adoration, and she showed up perhaps guarded, but curious to see if God and faith was more than an outward practice, but that interior reality in the heart.

It was a privilege to be a part of that tiny shift I could see in her heart, that opening to the possibility that there could be more. This is what pilgrimage is about! Many similar stories have taken place, and we still have six weeks to go. For everyone at our parish family, I want to encourage you to take that step in your own life today – open your heart and ask God to make Himself real not just as an outward reality, but an interior relationship. I am praying for you all, please pray for me!” - Sharon Phillips
